Frequently Asked Questions

  • Did you know the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche in Saint Augustine is only the fourth site in the United States to ever receive the honor of a Canonical Coronation?
Previously our Lady of the Immaculate Conception was canonically crowned in Lake Charles, LA in 2013, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel was crowned in New York City in 1904, and Our Lady of Prompt Succor was crowned in New Orleans in 1895.
  • Why are there two Shrines of Our Lady of La Leche?  Are they the same or are they different?
To deepen an understanding of the two shrines, please watch this video titled "Mission and Martyrs of North Florida and Canonical Coronation of Our Lady of La Leche" Catechesis with Dr. Mary Soha by fast forwarding to the 24 minute mark.
